Rustenburg Geocaching

Starting back in 2000, Dave Ulmer hid a container out in the woods and noted the GPS coordinates. He called the idea the “Great American GPS Stash Hunt”. The rule was “Find it, Take some stuff and leave some stuff”. From this small 'experimental' beginning it grew into a hobby and exciting family past time. Today it is called 'GeoCaching' and there are thousands such stashes across the globe and South Africa is no exception.

What makes GeoCaching even more exiting is the contents of some of these caches. From small toys to travel bugs which travel around the globe from one cache to another. For more information about GeoCaching visit http://www.geocaching.com.
